Professional Diploma in Clinical Psychology
PDCP01 PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY
A one year professional diploma in Clinical Psychology has been approved by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), Government of India. The programme aims to train students with skills appropriate for functioning within the spectrum of mental health services.
Upon successful completion, the students will be competent in identifying and diagnosing mental health problems and apply Counselling/Psychotherapy /Behavior Therapy techniques within the ethical and professional framework suggested by RCI.
Also, the student can register with RCI as “Clinical Psychologist (Associate)” under Central Rehabilitation Register (CRR) and function in service settings as expert/specialist in non-academic service settings. The clinical psychologist (Associate) will also be qualified to apply for clinical psychologist positions under state and central government sectors.
Admission Procedure –
The admission procedure for this programme is based on the norms and regulations prescribed by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), Government of India. The Entrance Test is conducted at the beginning of the Academic Session and consists of the following:
(a) Written Test – will consist of 50 Objective Type, and one (01) Essay type question. This component carries a total of 60 marks to be completed in a maximum time limit of 90 minutes. The distribution of marks is as follows:
- Objective Type – 50 marks
- Long Answer Type – 10 marks
(b) Group Discussion, Practical Skills and Personal Interview: this component carries a maximum of 40 marks. The distribution of marks for each component is as follows:
- Group Discussion – 10 marks
- Practical Skills & Personal Interview – 30 marks
